Can the Trailer Moving System work outside and inside?

Yes, the Trailer Moving System is perfectly designed to move trailers outdoors around depots and yards. Likewise, our trailer mover range offers a more sustainable and safer alternative to traditional systems such as diesel shunters, lorries and forklifts. With an electric design, our electric trailer mover provides zero emissions at the point of use, eliminating exhaust fumes from your trailer movement. 

Is a license required to operate the Trailer Moving System?

No, unlike shunters or lorries, the Trailer Moving System does not require a license to operate. A license-free operation reduces downtime and maximises operational efficiency, reducing the wasted time waiting for a licensed driver. 

What is the maximum speed of the Trailer Moving System?

With the Two Speed Selector switch, ‘Tortoise’ mode enables you to maximise control and operate the machine at a slower speed setting of 1.2kph. In the faster ‘Hare’ setting, the machine’s speed is 3kph. Our trailer movers can be set with custom speed settings where required, with a maximum programmable speed of 6kph.

How far can the Trailer Moving System range travel on one charge?

Battery performance varies from model to model and is influenced by load weight, battery capacity, environmental conditions and usage. Our trailer movers feature a powerful battery pack, ideal for working in high usage environments like trailer manufacturing and logistics depots. 

Individual battery performance data can be found on the Technical Specification Sheets for each model.

How do they connect to trailers?

A range of coupling and hitch options are available across the range that maximise performance, security and safety. Our trailer mover range uses the industry-standard fifth wheel king pin connection, enabling simple and secure connection to a range of industrial trailers.

Custom coupling and hitch solutions can also be designed for unique applications.

Can they work on slopes or on an incline?

Yes, the Trailer Moving System can work safely on slopes. Our trailer movers are the ideal solution for moving heavy trailers, low-loaders or box trailers around yards, through production environments and depots. Whether you're moving heavy trailers on level ground or on rough outdoor surfaces - our trailer movers deliver consistent performance.

When it comes to electric tugs, it’s important to understand that for every degree of slope involved, the maximum load capacity of the machine is reduced, just as pushing a car on the level requires less force than on a slope. Therefore, if the weight of the load is already close to the maximum capacity of the machine, a more powerful machine may be needed to move the load on a slope.

Is your trailer mover available with an air compressor?

Yes, our Trailer Moving System is available with an optional air compressor. This enables you to release trailer air brakes. The compressor hose is equipped with a female coupling adapter to allow it to connect to the trailer airline system.
