Reduce downtime with an electric trailer mover

Trailer Manufacturing

Our electric Trailer Moving System makes light work of unladen trailers weighing up to 20,000kg with zero emissions. Perfectly suited for tight production areas and to deliver maximum visibility and smooth, controlled movement.

Struggling with production bottlenecks?

For trailer manufacturers, improving workflows and streamlining processes is key. However, many manufacturers still rely on a combination of shunters, forklift trucks and lorries to transfer completed trailers off the line. This results in costly delays in waiting for a licensed driver to become available, reducing production efficiency.

Streamline the movement of trailers to drive efficiency

Reducing the reliance on traditional material handling equipment, our articulated trailer movers allow operators to move trailers off the line efficiently, reducing downtime. With no operator license required, there’s no wasted time in waiting for a licensed driver, maximising productivity and production flow.

The benefits of electric tugs for trailer manufacturing

You need material handling solutions that enhance production processes, not hinder them. Electric trailer movers offer a flexible solution enabling the efficient, safe movement of flatbeds, curtain siders and low loaders throughout trailer production facilities.

The cost of a TMS is also a fraction of the cost of a diesel tractor unit or forklift truck, which is not designed to move a trailer. The TMS can be used in confined spaces and so we can get more trailer units through our production process now if we need to.

      Your Questions, Answered - FAQs

What sort of trailers can I use your Trailer Moving System to move?

We’ve designed our trailer movers to move virtually any type of trailer from curtain siders to refrigerated units. Depending on which model you choose, our Trailer Moving System can be used to move unladen trailers of up to 20,000 kg.

This flexibility means that once a trailer becomes movable with the fitting of axles and wheels during production, it’s easy to couple it to the trailer tug and move it to another part of the factory for assembly to continue or to move it short distances once the trailer is complete.

Is an operator license or training required?

No, unlike shunters or lorries, the Trailer Moving System does not require a license to operate. A license-free operation reduces downtime and maximises operational efficiency, reducing the wasted time waiting for a licensed driver.

      How are electric tugs powered?

Electric tugs are battery powered, with interchangeable batteries or lithium options available, electric tugs can deliver 24/7 operation to keep your processes moving. Offering zero emissions from the point of use, electric tugs are ideally suited for indoor use, replacing internal combustion engine (ICE) powered equipment such as forklifts or tow tractors.

      How do trailer movers connect?

Our trailer movers connect via the standardised kingpin connection. This creates a secure connection and enables outstanding manoeuvrability - without the cost and complexity of shunters. Loads can quickly and easily be connected, improving operational efficiency.
